The MegaLab laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to carry out major mechanical tests on metallic materials. However, cutting-edge equipment alone is not enough to create an excellent laboratory.
Accreditation is a fundamental process to ensure the quality of services offered by a laboratory. Specifically, for a mechanical testing laboratory in the Oil & Gas sector, accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17025 represents a guarantee of technical competence and reliability of results. This process involves a thorough assessment of all elements that affect the production of technical data, from the qualifications of personnel to the validity of applied methods, from metrological traceability to sample management, and data quality assurance. Being compliant with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 means ensuring technically valid results and instilling confidence in the laboratory's services. Accredited organizations are subject to regular checks to ensure the maintenance of technical competence levels, and laboratories are required to participate in proficiency testing programs or inter-laboratory comparisons as continuous demonstration of their capabilities and conformity with the principles of ISO 9001 for the management system.
